'Round The Mountain is devoted exclusively to bringing you the current calendar of social events in Big Canoe for the coming six weeks. Most events are listed on the Big Canoe Community Calendars where you can set your own e-mail event reminders and import events straight into your iCal compatible calendar (Outlook, Mozilla, etc.) - or simply print them for future reference.

Over time our intimacy with nature causes us to think more deeply about what is really important to us. For most, this is a peaceful, contemplative place.

However, there are some who are not content.

They have called for action by the HOA against the POA. The motion was brought before the HOA Board by one its directors at the May 20 meeting, and then again by the same director via e-mail on May 28. On both occasions the motion was never seconded.

The HOA and all registered voters in the Amicalola District thank Board members Tom Alexander, Ben Collins, Carl Deane, and George Thurman for leading the effort to keep the polling place at Station #6.

They mobilized a team of determined volunteers to obtain valid signatures for the petition that was presented to the Dawson Board of Elections and Registration (DBE).
